Abstract

678,891. Window mounting. WINDSHIELDS OF WORCESTER, Ltd., and JONES, A. E. E. May 1, 1951 [Aug. 28, 1950]; No. 21188/50. Class 20(iii) In a vehicle windscreen or window panel mounting the panel 6 is received in a rubber glazing channel which is supported on a metal frame 1 and has an extension part 7 that lies between this frame and a body panel 10 to which the frame is attached, the extension being formed integrally with a flexible rubber weather strip 9 located below or outside the frame 1 and resiliently engaging the vehicle body 10. The frame 1 is of T-section, the flanges of which may be undercut. The one-piece rubber strip, which is flush with the frame 1, has an upper part 4 seated on the frame with a groove 5 for the panel 6, the central part 7 which overlies the rear edge of the frame, and the lower part 8 which includes the strip 9. The parts are secured together by screws 11 which pass through holes in the body panel 10 and holes 12 in the rubber strip to screw into tapped holes 13 in the frame 1, so that the part 7 forms a buffer between the frame 1 and the body panel 10.
