694,843. Glazing vehicle windows. DAIMLER BENZ AKT.-GES. Jan. 2, 1952 [Jan. 2, 1951], No. 205/52. Class 20(iii) A flexible window mounting for vehicles, which comprises a plane glass pane 5, Fig. 3, or a curved pane 6, Fig. 4, pressed into a rubber frame 7 is characterized in that the glazed frame 7 is secured within the window opening 9 of a vehicle wall 10 by means of a separate angle strip 12 which is made of bendable material, e.g. a light metal alloy, to conform to the boundary of the window. The glazed frame is introduced from the outside into the window opening 9 so that a sealing lip 7a presses firmly down on to the edge 11 of the window opening. One limb 14 or 15, (see Fig. 3 or Fig. 4), of the strip 12 is inserted into a groove 13 in the frame 7 either before or after the latter has been introduced into the window opening, and the other limb 16 or 17 is connected by screws 18 to the flange 9 defining the window opening. The limb 16, Fig. 3, has an undercut groove 20 to receive the screws 18, which are covered by a rubber, or the like, decorative strip 21. The limb 17, Fig. 4, is plain and the screws 18 are covered by a decorative strip 22 of wood or artificial material.
