Abstract

The rear opening window of the hatchback car has a narrow frame (6) with a stepped profile. The edge of the glass (5) is glued along one face of the step with a gap between the end edge of the glass and the profile to allow for tolerances in the glass size. Hinges and other catches are fitted to the frame profile. The glass is securely held without damaging strain, and with a narrow frame to ensure max. visibility. The ends of the profile form lips over which the trim strip (10) is clipped, with the trim strip covering the outer rim of the glass.
