Abstract

678,623. Undergarments. HURTLEY, Ltd., F. April 23, 1951 [Jan. 24, 1950; July 24, 1950], Nos. 1812/50 and 18392/50. Class 141. Men's pants comprising a body portion 1, elastic waistband 2 and a crotch portion 3 between leg openings 4, 5 are characterised in that the front of the body portion has an opening e.g. a vertical slit 6 which is covered by a fabric panel 7 attached to, or forming part of, the crotch portion 3 and attached to the waistband 2, the side edges being free and provided with elastic reinforcements 11. In a modification, the front of the body portion is made separately from the crotch portion and has a free lower edge forming the opening covered by the panel which is preferably made in one piece with the back and crotch portions. The pants may be of knitted fabric and more extensible transversely than vertically, and tubular leg bands 10 including elastic may be provided.
