Men's pants comprise two side sections 1, 2 having leg openings 3, 4 and joined by a central crutch section 5 of rib knitted fabric providing vertical stretch and having a front opening 9. The section 5 may be formed of two plies extending downwardly from the waistband 7, the outer ply continuing up the back to the waistband whilst the inner ply may terminate a short. distance above the crutch at the back. The side sections may be of plain knitted fabric. The section 5 may also incorporate elastic threads.
