Abstract

615,501. Underpants. MUNSINGWEAR, Inc. July 31, 1946, No. 22838. Convention date, Aug 3, 1945. [Class 141] Men's underpants consist of a seamless, tubular body part 3 which is cut lower at the rear than at the front and a crotch piece 7 which is sewn at one end 9 to the lower, rear edge of the body part and at the other end overlaps the front of the body part and is secured by vertical seams 14, 15, the horizontal upper end 17 being left free to provide a horizontal fly opening. The leg openings 19, 20 and the edges of the crotch piece are bound by tape 12 incorporating rubber. The crotch piece is formed from a piece of material, Fig. 4, sewn up along the edges 7<1> to produce a pouched effect. Blanks for body parts may be cut from a length of tubular fabric, Fig. 1, by alternate straight and curved cuts, b-b, a-a.
