673,569. Brake cooling systems. FIAT SOC. PER AZIONI. June 28, 1950 [June 30, 1949], No. 16199/50. Class 103 (i). A motor vehicle wheel hub is formed at the base of the radial flange 1a carrying the screw threaded pins 4 for attachment of the wheel, with a circular row of holes 8, and the disc 2 secured to the flange and carrying the brake drum 3 is formed in its periphery with a set of conduits 9 radially directed towards the outside in a manner such that cooling air is sucked into the interior of the drum through the circular row of holes 8 and exhausted therefrom by centrifugal effect through the conduits 9. The wheel disc 5 and cup 7 protect the conduits 9 and holes 8, respectively, from entry of dirt.
