Abstract
672,973. Window &c. shutters. CORDOVA, M. R. DE. Feb. 7, 1950 [Feb. 7, 1949], No. 3327/49. Classes 20(iii) and 137. Door, window, veranda, &c. shutters comprise a series of overlapping slats 2 pivoted about parallel pivotal axes and linked by a bar 6 pivotally connected to each of them. An operating handle 8 is carried by a pin 9 which is pivoted on the bar and has a catch plate 10 the ends of which may be engaged with latches 11 on one of the slats when the shutter is closed. A key-operated lock may be incorporated. The shutter frame has a rib 4 on the rails and if desired on the styles, the slats having flanged edges overlapping the rib. The overlapping edges of the slats may be such as to provide a flush outer surface to the shutter. The slats may be of wood, plastic, metal or glass or comprise glazed frames, and the frame of the unit may incorporate a transom window.
