Abstract

A kit of parts for constructing a patio door having at least one fixed panel 10 and at least one sliding panel 11 is so constructed that the same kit can be used both for doors where the fixed panel 10 is to be on the left side of the sliding panel 11 and where the fixed panel 10 is to be on the right hand side of the sliding panel 11. For this purpose, the header 14 of the main frame has a lower surface 30 which slopes at the same angle as the upper sloping surface 22 of the sill 20. The jamb 16 and the corresponding jamb at the other side of the frame have their ends cut at an angle to engage with these sloping surfaces so that each jamb can be used either way up. <IMAGE>
