Abstract

Dyes are made by acylating the aminoacedianthrone, obtained by nitrating acedianthrone in sulphuric acid and reducing, with 1-amino- or 1-nitro-anthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid or a halide or anhydride thereof. In the latter case the nitro group may be reduced to amino. The products dye or print cotton reddish-brown shades. An example of the manufacture and of a printing process is given. Specification 441,049 is referred to.
