Abstract

The invention comprises dyestuffs of the formula <FORM:0885681/IV (c)/1> where R is a benzene residue, X is a b -chloro-or b -bromo-propionyl residue, and one Z is a sulphonic acid group and the other Z is hydrogen or a sulphonic acid group. The dyestuffs are made by acylating a dyestuff of the above formula but where X is hydrogen with a b -chloro-or b -bromo-propionic acid anhydride or halide. The dyestuffs dye and print cellulose and nitrogenous textile materials, leather and synthetic fibres in blue shades. The dyestuff may be fixed on the cellulose materials by an alkali treatment, with or without a heat treatment. Specification 718,885 is referred to.
