Abstract

Textiles are printed with a composition comprising an acylated aminoacedianthrone, a thickening agent, an alkali and a reducing agent. Examples are given in which cotton is printed, dried, aged, washed, oxidized with potassium dichromate solution and then soaped, the dyes used being (1) the dyestuff obtained by condensing aminoacedianthrone with azobenzene - 4,41 - dicarboxylic acid chloride; (2) benzoylaminoacedianthrone; (3) the dyestuff obtained by mononitrating acedianthrone in sulphuric acid, reducing, and acylating with 1-nitroanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid chloride and reducing the nitro group with sodium hydrosulphite; (4) the dyestuff obtained by acylating diaminoacedianthrone with 1-nitroanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid chloride and reducing the nitro group, and (5) dibenzoylaminoacedianthrone.
