Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv). [Also in Group XXXV] The method of making a magnetic core comprising magnetic strip wound in a coil is characterized in that the strip material has linear deformation applied longitudinally thereto so that the coil does not collapse when the mandrel is removed and the coiled core annealed. The corrugations are effected by passing the strip through complementary corrugated rollers and a pre-determined set may be given to the strip to prevent the coil unwinding when the strip is cut.
