Abstract

762,250. Transformers. McGRAW ELECTRIC CO. Aug. 9, 1954, No. 23098/54. Class 38(2). A laminated magnetic core 38 is made by winding on a mandrel 10 a loop 17 from a strip 15 of magnetic strip material; spacers 16 being inserted at one side of the loop during winding; the loop 17 being annealed after completion of the winding operation; removing the spacers 16; cutting through the turns of the loop 17 on the spacer side only intermediate the ends of the side so as to produce a number of discontinuous turns of laminations and finally assembling these laminations around a preformed winding 36 so that the ends 39 of the laminations form a series of lap joints 40.
