Abstract

671,309. Centrifugal pumps. HINSCH, J. Dec. 13, 1949 [Dec. 31, 1948], No. 31941/49. Class 110(i) In a self-priming pump having a starshaped impeller 5, a large channel 6 for the delivery of water, and a small channel 9 communicating therewith for the delivery of air, the water delivery channel 6 is formed as a lateral channel concentric with the impeller, the air delivery channel 9 commencing at the outlet 7 of the channel 6 or adjoining the pressure space 8 at its inlet. The air outlet 10 may be separated from the water outlet 7 by a radial rib 11. The channel 9 may be supplemented or replaced by a similar channel disposed on the other side of the impeller, or it may lie radially outside the impeller. The channel 9 may be of constant width, as shown, or may widen in a radial direction towards its outlet.
