Abstract

An iron ore briquette consists of iron ore fines (1-80 per cent by weight), blast furnace flue dust (5-80 per cent), coke breeze (5-10 per cent), iron turnings (5-10 per cent), hydrochloric acid (0.1-0.5 per cent) and seawater or brine (2-10 per cent). A small quantity (1-2 per cent) of cement may also be included. The briquettes may be used for charging into blast or other furnaces.
