Abstract
303,206. White, A. E., (Allen, S. G.). Aug. 30, 1926. Extracting.-A method of operating blast-furnace processes, in which an oxygenated blast is used, consists in using a. degree of oxygenation that would cause an excessive smelting capacity as compared with shaft reduction capacity and in proportionally increasing the ratio of ore to coke in the charge. If the shaft temperature becomes too low additional fuel such as powdered coal, fuel oil, &c. may be introduced into the furnace at a. point above the mantle.
