Abstract

669,839. Ring-spinning machines. HERR MANUFACTURING CO., Inc. Feb. 1, 1949, No. 2764/49. Class 120(ii) In a ring and traveller device the ring 11 has a traveller-engaging portion of a crosssection similar in shape to an axial section of a frustrum of cone and terminating at the base of such portion in lower bearing faces 17 and 18 disposed substantially at right angles to the ring axis, the inner bearing face 15 of the ring extending upwardly and outwardly from the inner edge of the adjoining lower bearing face 17. and the traveller 12 os of complementary shape and has legs 19 disposed in parallel relation to the side faces of the ring and joinedat their upper ends in a curved vertex portion to provide a thread engaging loop, each of the legs 19 terminating at its free end in an inwardly-bent substantially horizontal foot 20 for disposition beneath the companion lower bearing face of the ring. Means for lubricating the ring include a reservoir 14.
