Abstract

1,182,587. Rings and travellers for spinning. T.M.M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. 18 April, 1967 [28 April, 1966], No. 18692/66. Heading D1D. In a ring and traveller arrangement the ring has a flange 13 with a substantially flat upper surface 16 and the traveller has a flat portion 23 which under working conditions extends substantially parallel to the upper surface of the ring. The inner bearing surface 15 of the flange has a cross-sectional radius not less than 75% of the cross-sectional radius of the co-operating surface of the traveller, as shown the two radii are equal. The clearance between the innermost end of surface 16 and the traveller is arranged to be less than the diameter of the yarn, as shown it is zero. The flange bearing surface 15 extends through an angle of more than 90‹. The flat surface 16. preferably slopes downwardly towards its outer edge.
