Abstract
667,023. Boxes. WALSALL CONDUITS, Ltd., and WHALLEY, W. March 9, 1950. [March 11, 1949] No. 6749/49. Class 18. [Also in Group XXII] A sheet metal box for electric switches &c. comprises a base with integral bent up side walls each of the outer corners of the walls being formed with integral lugs which interengage to secure the walls together at the corners, and have aligned and tapped holes for coverplate screws. A flat blank 11, Fig. 2, with integral wall portions 12, 13 is formed with lugs 14, 15 on the outer edges, each of the lugs 14 having an integral tongue 16 on its end and each of the lugs 15 having a recess 17 in its side. In forming the box the lugs are first bent up at right angles to the plane of the blank which is then bent along the lines 22, 23, so that the lugs overlap, the tongues 16 then being bent to engage in the recesses 17, Figs. 3 and 4. Tapped holes 25 are formed in the overlapping lugs for the attachment of a cover by screws.
