639,419. Cardboard boxes. MARDON, SON & HALL, Ltd. July 30, 1947, No. 20528. [Class 18] A cardboard box, tray, lid or the like formed from a single blank has the corner portions 10, which connect the wall panels 3, 6, 5, 8, bent inwardly along diagonal score lines 12 to form triangular tucks that are located, in the erected box, between the walls 8, 6 and doubled-in extensions 7, 9 each of which is locked in position by the engagement of one or more projections 11<SP>1</SP> with one or more slots 131 in the base of the box. Fig. 1 shows a box blank with an integral lid panel 2 and tuck-in flap 1 and also with the corner portion 10 cut away at 14 to facilitate folding of the extensions 7, 9. In a shallow box, the diagonal 12 may be completely cut near the corner of the base 4.
