Abstract
614,477. Junction boxes. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd., BLADES, R. W., and ATHERTON, R. H. July 13, 1946, No. 21027. [Class 38 (i)] An electric junction box comprises two similar half-sections 4, 5 adapted to be secured together by interengaging flanges 7 and 6 and sealing metal 10 to form a sealed chamber and provide cable entry portions 12 of truncated conical shape. The cable entries are slit or scored at 13 to provide tongues 14 which may be bent to accommodate cables of different diameters, sealed joints between the cables and the entries being formed by wiped joints 16. The box is made of metal which is hard relative to lead, e.g. copper or brass.
