666,795. Reservoir pens. AUSTIN, J. J. March 28, 1950 [July 18, 1949], No. 18858/49. Class 146 (iii). In a ball-point reservoir pen the reservoir resides solely in the nosepiece 10 and has a cross-sectional area which is, for the greater part of its length, such that the ink is not retained by capillary forces, this nose-piece carrying at the lower end the usual writing ball housing 12, and provided at the upper end with a tubular portion 19 having a closed end 20 in which is an air inlet 21, a floating cup 22 being located within the tubular portion 19 and following the movement of the ink within the nose-piece 10. The cup 22 prevents ink from escaping through the aperture 21.
