Abstract

666,356. Printing- surfaces. GRUNBERG, T., BELTRAMI, E., and MITCHELL'S IMPORT SOC. DE R. L. Aug. 10, 1949, No. 20809/49. Class 100 (ii). Means for attaching an engraved sheet 19 to the cylinder 2 of a rotary or flatbed printing press comprises a longitudinal slot 3 in the cylinder to receive the bent-over ends 20, 21 of the sheet, one side wall of the slot being rabbeted and the opposite side wall dovetailed, and a pair of complementary clamping wedges 4, 5 fitting into the slot. The wedges 4, 5 are respectively L-shaped and trapezoidal, and after insertion of the wedge 4, the wedge 5 is inserted endwise to clamp the sheet between the cylinder and the wedge 4. The wedges 4, 5 are tapered respectively forwards and backwards to complement each other.
