Abstract
666,115. Tapping bottles. AUTOBAR CORPORATION, Nov. 8, 1949. [Nov. 12, 1948]. No. 28665/49. Class 21. [Also in Groups XVIII] A closure device for temporary attachment to a bottle has a bayonet joint connection with a fixed dispensing unit. The device 34, 35 is attached to a bottle by the forcing outwardly of spring fingers 42 by a cone 50, the cone 50 having a diametral pin 56 engageable by a hook through the delivery duct 36. The duct 36 is closed by a slide 62, locked in closed position by tumblers 90 and released by the engagement of a tubular key 113 on the dispensing unit. with the tumblers. The securing of the device on the unit releases the slide permitting an orifice 64 in it to be aligned with the duct 36. The key 113 is so shaped that the device cannot be turned to disengage it from the unit until the slide is closed. Removal of the device from the unit relocks the slide which may be released by a separate tubular key. The bayonet joint comprises lugs 106, 102 on the unit and device respectively. The unit may comprise valves operated by a handle 28 permitting flow of liquid to a measure 24. A counter 30 may record the measures dispensed.
