Abstract

604,637. Dispensing liquids. JOBLING & CO., Ltd., J. A., and BOWMAKER, E. J. C. Nov. 29, 1945, No. 32293. [Class 106(v)] A device for dispensing measured quantities of liquid comprises a container 1 having a restricted upper end 2 in which is accommodated a float valve 4 which has a head 5 of such size that it cannot fall into the container 1, and has a surface 6 which is a ground fit with the container to ensure fluid-tightness. The liquid is supplied from a funnel 10 through a cock 11 which is closed when the closing of the valve 4 prevents further liquid from entering the container, the cock 8 then being opened. Two or more indentations are made in the head 5 to prevent the head from closing the passage 2a, against the entry of air to the container, when the valve 4 is 'unseated. The device may be made entirely or partly of metal, glass or plastics.
