661,548. Belt gearing. HJARTSATER, J. J. Nov. 23, 1949, No. 30005/49. Class 80 (i). A V-belt has a section suitable for a drive between a grooved pulley and a flat pulley. Half of Fig. 1 shows the belt placed in a grooved pulley 1, the other half showing the belt on a flat pulley 2. The belt has a convex upper face and a 'concave lower face, the profile of each being formed of straight portions a and a curved portion b. The angle subtended by the straight portions of the lower face is greater than that subtended by the upper face. In a modification a belt is formed with flat upper and lower faces and concave side faces, the profiles thereof having straight and curved portions similar to those described above.
