Class 86 [Also in Group XII] In a device for mixing the hot gases 3 and cold air 2 which flow with a whirling motion as a central core and an outer sheath respectively through a combustion chamber having an interior in the form of a body of revolution, the outlet of the chamber has baffles 4 to direct the air and gases towards the axis of the chamber to effect mixing, equate temperatures and eliminate whirling thereof. The baffles do not extend into the centre of the hot gases and are staggered. The chamber may have a pair of opposed or staggered baffles.
