Abstract
619,807. Ventilation apparatus. LOGIE, W. R. Dec. 28, 1946, No. 37951. [Class 137] A duct 1 discharging hot waste gases to atmosphere frcm a power source 2 such as boilers cr internal combustion engines is surrounded by a funnel 3, the annular space 6, which is large enough to be occupied by persons, opening into a chamber 6a below it to which air is admitted through one or more inlets 10. To ventilate this chamber and other adjoining spaces 6b, with an inlet 11 and outlet 12 into the chamber, an apertured diaphragm 8 extends across the funnel above the mouth of the duct so that air is entrained by the ejector action of the gases issuing from a nozzle 4 at the end of the duct. A tapered member 7 and extension 9 which may include a diverging outlet surmount the diaphragm but these may be dispensed with.
