661,498. Generating combustion products under pressure. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON. May 24, 1949 [Oct,. 26. 1948], No. 13884/49. Class 51. (i). In a combustion chamber for gaseous, powdered or liquid fuel particularly for gas turbines and having a fuel injector 2 on the axis, the primary, secondary and mixing air flow into a distribution chamber 5 from which the mixing air is projected along the wall of the combustion chamber helicoidally through a distributer 4 and due to centrifugal force tends to bear against the wall of the chamber to form a heat-insulating layer. The secondary air flows through a distributer which gives it either a rotational movement in the same or the opposite direction to that of the mixing air or a non-rotational forward movement parallel to the axis of the chamber. Primary air flows through the inlet 3 and is also given either a rotational movement in the same or the opposite direction to that of the mixing air or a non- rotational forward movement. Additional mixing air may be supplied through a distributer which gives it a rotational movement in the 'same direction as the mixing air.
