Abstract

656,836. Sand-blast. WILSON, A. M. March 18, 1947, Nos. 7516 and 30597. [Class 60] [Also in Group XXVIII] A sand gun for removing soot from the heating surfaces of boilers &c. comprises a pair of aligned venturi nozzles 33, 34, air or steam being directed through the nozzle 33 to eject a secondary cleaning medium such as sand and water, supplied to a chamber 35, through the main nozzle 34. The nozzles are mounted in a cylindrical body 25, rotatable by a handwheel 29, at an inclination to its axis, the body having ports 26, 27 for the supply of sand and steam. The supply of sand or water is controlled by a plug-cock 20 having an indicator 19 associated with the handle, and.a pin-and-slot limit stop device 20A, 20B.
