Abstract

166,761. King, T. May 11, 1920. Sund blast.-A sandblast apparatus comprises a casing 1, Fig. 3, fitted with a nipple 4, a nozzle 5, and a nozzle 3 directed upon the work. Air or steam passes by the nipple 4 and nozzle 5 to a mixing-chamber 6, drawing sand from a container through a valve, Fig. 19, and a flexible hose 28 past a. hand-controlled ball-valve 33 into the chamber 6. The valve, Fig. 19, comprises two circular members 29, 41 with apertures 47, 48, the member 29 being rotatable relatively to the other to control the inlets. The ball valve 33 is closed by a lever 36, a link 37 on it engaging with a lip 38 on the casing, and holding it down. Air enters through an opening 22 communicating with the interior of the casing 1, and passes through a slot 21 into the chamber 6. The nozzles can be removed by removing bolts in flanges 9 of the casing 1.
