Abstract

198,627. Jenkins, A. F. Feb. 28, 1922. Gas burners.-In an apparatus for coating or welding metals, acetylene and oxygen, or other combustible fluids, are supplied to tubes 32, 33 and mix in a tube 34 before issuing from a flame tip 31. At the front of the handle 35 the tubes have trigger valves 38, 39, each normally held open by a spring 40. The trigger 41 of valve 38 has a cam 42 which engages the trigger 43 of valve 39 so as to close the latter as the operator closes the valve 38, for the purpose of regulating the flame. Near the flame tip is a metal particle spraying nozzle 44 into which leads a pipe 46 connected with the oxygen conduit on the inlet side of the regulating valve 37, and provided with a trigger 49 controlled by a spring 50 and engaged by a cam 51 on the trigger 43. so that when the valves .38, 39 are closed the spraying valve. 48 is open and vice versa. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 18715/10, [Class 82 (ii), Washing granular &c.], 18716/10, 15960/14, and 121,344.
