Abstract
1,119,786. Oxy-gas burners. MESSER GREISHEIM G.m.b.H. 15 Nov., 1965 [14 Nov., 1964; 6 May, 1965], No. 48317/65. Heading F4T. A burner for cutting or flame treating a metal workpiece has a diaphragm or piston valve 9 which controls the flow of heating oxygen to an internal mixer 4 and which is automatically closed when a valve 8 controlling the flow of cutting oxygen to the burner discharge nozzle, 15 is manually opened. The discharge nozzle is thus supplied with an oxy-fuel gas mixture during preheating and with separate streams of fuel gas and oxygen during the cutting process. One side of the diaphragm 16 of the valve 9 communicates through a duct 19 with the down stream side of the cutting oxygen valve 8. The diaphargm can be adjusted by a screw. The fuel gas is supplied by a connection 10 and is controlled by a valve 5.
