Abstract

691,779. Spray-producers; manually-actuated valves. AKTIEBOLAGET HENRIKSSONS BRANDREDSKAP. Feb. 22, 1952 [Feb. 23, 1951]. No. 4747/52. Classes 69(iii) and 135 A nozzle attachment for fire hose includes a valve housing 1 having, at one end, a handle 2 which is secured through a connector 3 to the hose, and at the other end a nozzle 11 for ejecting a solid stream of liquid, and a connector 7 for an extension tube 5 leading to a spray nozzle. Water passes into the housing through passages 15, and the discharge from the nozzle 11 and the spray nozzle is controlled by spring-biased lift valves 13 and 12 respectively, which are independently opened by pivoted arms 25 and 20. The arm 25 is pivoted at 24, and includes a forked part 27 which engages a projection 13c on the valve stem 13a, and the arm 20 has a forked part 19 secured to a transverse shaft 18 carrying a forked part 21, which engages a ring 17 secured to the valve stem 12a. The relative positioning of the arms and handle allows the control of the valves by the hand holding the handle.
