656,255. Rectifying. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON. Feb. 16, 1948, No. 4514. Convention date, March 19, 1947. Drawings to Specification. [Class 38 (ii)] A heavy current mercury arc rectifier system having a triple single phase push-pull wave connection has the main rectifier transformer star connected on the primary side with the iron circuit of each phase having an independent magnetic return path so as to increase the utilization of each anode for more than 180 degrees electric. The independent magnetic return path of each phase comprises a leakage path which may be through air or through an iron keeper placed between the yokes to ensure that the lines of force of any one phase do not link with any other phase. The rectifier transformer may comprise one three-phase transformer or three single-phase transformers appropriately connected.
