656,047. Precombustion chambers. ZACKIEWICH, C. Dec. 29, 1948, No. 33375. Convention date, Dec. 30,1947. [Class 7(iii)] A precombustion chamber comprises a tube 1, with slits or ports 4, arranged diametrically of the cylinder bore, or at one side thereof, the tube receiving fuel through at least one of its ends from injectors 3. Preferably two fuel injectors are employed situated in the cavities 3 and injecting on alternate strokes. The piston 6 is formed with a semi-cylindrical recess to accommodate the lower part of the tube 1 in the top dead centre position, and a constriction 2 may be formed at the mid-point of the tube.
