Abstract

654,500. Pipe joints. GRUBB, R. G., and MORRIS, S. W. M. Oct. 6, 1948, No. 26097. [Class 99(i)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A flexible pipe 17 having an electrical conductor 18 is connected to a metal pipe 26 or to the tubular stub of a junction-box or to a metal sleeve, the other end of which has a like connection to another flexible pipe, by a coupling nut 19 which clamps the flared end of the pipe 17 on to an olive 15 located in the tapered mouth of pipe 26. A sealing ring 29 is housed in a recess in the nut adjacent the flare of the pipe, as shown, or in a recess in the nut adjacent the cylindrical part of the pipe.
