Abstract

654,435. Electrolytic polishing. DAMIEN, N. April 14, 1948, No. 10430. Convention date, April 15, 1947. [Class 41] Metallic surfaces, for example aluminium surfaces, are electrolytically polished in a bath which contains sulphuric acid and also sodium bichromate in an amount not exceeding substantially 30 grams per litre of bath. The bath may contain, for example, 50 to 75 per cent sulphuric acid concentrated at 66‹ BÚ, 50 to 25 per cent water, reckoned by volume, and 15 to 30 grams of sodium bichromate per litre of bath.
