Abstract
651,458. Feedwater .distributers for steam boilers. ANGLO-IRANIAN OIL CO., Ltd., BEALE, C. L., [Representatives of DIGHT, S. R.]. Feb. 28, 1947, No. 4420. [Class 123(ii)] Feedwater is supplied to the steam- and-water drum a of a boile: by an inlet pipe b which extend horizontally through the drun below the norma water level there in and communi cates, by means of a junction c, with a parallel pipe d which is provided with a number of spaced vertical outlets e of relatively small diameter, the latter being adapted to project the feedwater, which has been heated by passage through the pipes b, d, into the steam space of said drum. A uniform distribution of the feedwater is secured by one or more deflection plates g of trapezoidal section which are mounted above the out lets e on supports f extending upwardly from the pipe d. The slanting walls h of the plates g are preferably corrugated to form transverse grooves so that the feedwater is deflected downwardly at an angle and discharged in a row of small streams on each side of the pipe d.
