Abstract
1309145 Dual-circulation boiler FOSTER WHEELER JOHN BROWN BOILERS Ltd 24 April 1970 19877/70 Heading F4A A dual-circulation vapour generator comprises a primary path with natural circulation, a secondary path with forced circulation, and a steam drum having a "blow-down" orifice between the primary and secondary paths. In an embodiment, a steam boiler has a steam drum which comprises two separate portions 104, 106 for the primary and secondary paths interconnected by a "blow down" orifice 132. The secondary steam and water mixture enters via pipes 64 to separator 108, the water recirculating via downcomer 72, the steam passing through passages 114, where its vaporized silica is removed by the feedwater from inlet 116. The primary steam and water mixture enters via pipes 78, 84 to separator 118, the steam mixing with the steam from the secondary and passing through drier 124 to outlet 126, the water passing either to the primary downcomer 86 or to the secondary downcomer 72 via the "blow down" orifice. The secondary path may be provided with a "blow-off" means.
