Abstract
650,624. Adjustable cranks.. TURNER BROS. (BIRMINGHAM), Ltd., and CLAYTON, D. April 1. 1948, No. 9194: [Class 80(iii)] '[Also in Group XXVI] An adjustable throw crank shaft for use in power presses and the like comprises an eccentrically bored sleeve 12 mounted on a crank pin 11. The sleeve can be rotated upon the crank pin by the use of a bar inserted in radial holes 18 in a ring 17 attached to the sleeve, and it may be locked in one of a plurality of positions by the insertion at each end of four locking keys (not shown) axially with respect to the crank pin into holes 21 or 22, Fig. 2, in a flange 16. The keys are housed in slots 25 in the crank cheeks 15 and each has a lug engaging an annular groove 27 in a locking ring 20. In each crank cheek a short key 29 is housed in a slot 30 and is held by a grup screw 28, thus preventing unscrewing of the ring 20.
