Abstract

767,666. Feeding webs; typewriters. STANDARD REGISTER CO. July 21 1954, No. 21292/54. Classes 100(1) and 100(4) A pin type strip feeding device has a plurality of peripherally arranged pins that may be extended from or retracted into a cylindrical body. As shown, a body 11, Figs. 4 and 5, is secured by a set screw 17 to a key 14 fitted to a shaft, not shown. A circular groove 19 in the body 11 defines a land 21 provided with radial slots 22 and inclined slots 23. The radial slots 22 receive feeding pins 26 pivotally mounted in a collar 29 rotatable on a shoulder 13. The pins 26 are maintained in a radial position by shoulders 24, 25. A spring 33, located between the collar 29 and ring 31, thrusts the collar 29 towards the land 21. When the washer 29 is rotated, by a wrench 35, Fig. 7, engaging slots 34, relatively to the body 11 in a counterclockwise direction as shown in Fig. 4, the pins 26 are retracted in the body 11. Rotation of the collar 29 in the opposite direction extends the pins 26 beyond the collar 29. Specification 727,006 is referred to.
