Abstract

964,463. Printing-apparatus. E. GERICKE. Dec. 3, 1962 [Dec. 4, 1961], No. 45459/62. Heading B6C. An inking system suitable for an offset printing machine comprises at least one inking roller for selective inking across the width of the machine, which roller is divided into a plurality of roller portions of smaller width, at least one of the portions being movable along the roller shaft and the total width of the portions corresponding to the total printing width of the machine. In Fig. 7 roller portion 13 is fixed on the roller shaft 18 and the roller portion 14 is mounted on a sleeve 19 provided with a ring 20 and slides along the shaft 18 on actuation of a lever 22 which is provided with a roller 24 engaging a groove 25 in the ring 20. A set screw 28 limits the movement of the portion 14. In the embodiment of Fig. 8, not shown, the roller is divided into three portions which are all relatively movable.
