647,825. Commutating windings. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and POHL, R. April 29, 1947, No. 11463. [Class 35] The series excited interpoles 3 of a D.C. machine carry additional coils 14 connected to auxiliary coils 13 wound on the main poles to neutralize the transformer voltage produced in the armature by charges in the main flux. A resistor 15 may be included in the circuit to improve the time constant, and its resistance may be varied automatically in dependence on the speed of the machine, or the number of effective turns of the coils may be so varied.
