Abstract

646,082. Cylinders. COMPACT POWER PRODUCTS, Inc. Feb. 18, 1948, No. 4750. Convention date, Aug. 5, 1946. [Class 7(ii)] A cylinder barrel and the crank case are made from two parts 10 which are united on an axial plane, the head 15 being held by an annular flange 15A embraced by semi-annular grooves in the parts 10, which are preferably die-cast and include the sump base 16. The parts 10 are united round a liner 14 by bolts 11 or by a bonding agent. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a cylinder head formed of two halves integral with the parts 10 and a separate sparking plug socket clamped between the halves. The crank case may be closed by a separate plate. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
