Abstract

609,011. Cylinders. PETERSEN, O. May 3, 1946, No. 13509. Convention date, April 19, 1945. [Class 7 (ii)] An improved cylinder head 6 is obtained by carrying a liner 2 on the water jacket 3 by a flange 16 having bores 17 for the fuel nozzles and other accessories, which are thus removed from the cylinder head. The head is clamped to the engine frame 1 by external bolts, a sliding joint being arranged adjacent the ports 13. Slight clearance is left between the conical extension of the head and the flange 16.
