[Class 122(v)] [Also in Group XXXIII] A stuffing-box has a ring g<SP>2</SP> of H crosssection in it, through which oil for lubricating the variable-pitch propeller passes from the supply pipe # 3 , and through a cross-bore in the propeller shaft to a longitudinal groove in the operating shaft b. In a modified arrangement the stuffing box is fitted with two rings g<SP>2</SP> to provide continuous circulation of the propeller lubricant.
