Abstract
642,590. Pneumatic single-stroke apparatus. TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. June 10, 1947, No. 15294. Convention date, June 15, 1946. [Class 8(ii)] '[Also in Group X] A fluid motor for operating a vehicle window, (see Group X), comprises a pressure-responsive member, e.g. a piston (not shown), movable in a chamber 9, and a fluid supply passage 19, Fig. 3, for the motor is restricted and thereafter enlarged as the window approaches its seat, i.e., as the piston approaches one end of the chamber, by a valve comprising a pin 21 carried by the piston, so that the cylinder is momentarily retarded, but the passage remains open upon reversal of the motor so that the opening movement of the window is not retarded. As shown, the pin 21 passes through a loose valve ring 22 in a chamber 23, which is sucked against its seat 24 by the suction supply through passage 19. The passage is thus restricted and is subsequently enlarged due to a reduced portion 26 on the pin. For reverse piston movement atmospheric air enters the passage 19 thus unseating the ring to open the passage. The ring is retained in the chamber 23 by a cage 25.
