Class 8(2) In a pneumatic motor the speed of the piston c is controlled by controlling the rate of outflow of cushioning air from the end not subjected to motive air by means of a valve h subjected to the pressure of the motive air and opposed by a spring f. As shown a piston e is connected to the valve h. In a modification the head of the piston valve is subjected directly to the pressure air. In a further modification an external piston valve is employed.
